Meet Destinie

Greetings Residents and Neighbors of Iowa Colony,

I am your neighbor, Destinie Washington, and am excited to announce my candidacy for Iowa Colony City Council, District A.

As a Christian, dedicated wife, mother, community volunteer and small business owner, I am committed to serving our growing city and every community therein with integrity, transparency and compassion.

As your City Council Representative, my goals are to listen to your concerns, amplify your voices and work tirelessly to ensure our city remains a safe, thriving and vibrant place for all families. I am a native Houstonian and 9-year resident of Iowa Colony with proven community leadership skills, including PTO president at Bel-Sanchez Elementary School, fundraising chair at Iowa Colony Junior High School PTO, along with several other Boards and Committees within the community.

My husband, Bruce Washington, is a U. S. Army Veteran and small business owner who also has a wide range of experience working within diverse communities. We have three daughters Bry'Elle, Drew and Blake and a son Cayleb who is currently serving in the U. S. Navy. We are all active members of Crossing Point Christian Church in Rosharon, TX.
